Abstract

Access to quality and reliable electricity supply is regarded as the main conduit of economic growth and development in any part of the world. Therefore, this study was conducted to determine the impact of electricity outages on the operational costs of selected Micro-finance Banks in Minna. To achieve the proposed research objectives of investigating the impact of electricity outages on the operational costs of selected Micro-finance Banks in Minna, a quantitative survey research design was adopted, and the sampling frame for the study included staff of selected Micro-finance Banks in Minna.  The sample size of the research was 45, which represented samples from the three (3) selected MFBs, and linear regression was used to test the research hypothesis. The study found that electricity outages have no significant impact on the operational costs of MFBs in Minna. Therefore, the government should engage the AEDC accordingly to ensure the stability of the power supply in Minna. This will significantly reduce power-driven operational costs.
